Guide to Phuket Panwa

Panwa is a quiet resort on the south-eastern tip of Phuket. Due to the dramatic hills in this part of the island you'll find spectacular views out west to Koh Lon, and Phi Phi island to the east. Although Panwa is less built-up than other resorts on the island it's only a short taxi ride from Phuket Town, with its temples, markets, colonial-era architecture and marvellous choice of places to eat. Panwa also has the advantage of being at the end of a narrow strip of land bordered on both sides by water, so you don't have to walk far to find a place from where you can find a quiet spot to watch the sun go down in a blaze of rich colours. Other nearby areas of interest include Tang Khen Bay, which is Phuket's main sea port, and the scenic pier and small marinas at Chalong Bay.
