An introduction to Theo Villa

It's peaceful. It's secluded. And it's got views to die for. Little Villa Theo is wonderfully placed if you're looking for a rural hideaway far from the madding crowd. That's not to say that it's remote though. It's a 30 minute drive to Kolymbari and its pebble beach. And even closer to home you've got a clutch of shops and tavernas about 15 minutes away so you can dip in and out of things as much or as little as you please.

Built in 2006, it's laid out all on one level with an open plan lounge, kitchen and dining room. It can sleep up to six people – there are two doubles and one twin – and all the bedrooms are air-conditioned guaranteeing a cool night's sleep. And as it's a fairly recent build, the villa has been kitted out with plenty of modern appliances. There's a microwave, a washing machine, a fridge freezer – you've even got a DVD and CD player in there.

But it would be wrong to think that this property is all about clear surfaces and minimalism. Theo Villa manages to walk that tricky modern-meets-traditional with aplomb. It's fairly simple with tiled floors, dark wood furniture and a traditional fireplace - but touches like the fashionable Art Deco-style leather sofas add a little bit of the 'moment' factor. It's all been thoughtfully designed in keeping with the rustic setting.

And what a setting it is. Surrounded by woods and farmland, it's every inch a rural idyll. What's more you've got awe-inspiring views of mountains and the sea. What could be better than relaxing out by the pool with the sea gently glinting in the distance? Or watching the sun sink below the horizon as you enjoy a leisurely al fresco dinner out on the terrace? Simply sublime.
