Come evening, track down the town square where bars, pavement cafes and restaurants are lively – but never overbearing. El Medano has some great attractions nearby, too. There's Eagle Park in Los Cristianos where birds of prey swoop perilously close above heads, plus two nature reserves - Montana Roja and Montana Pelada. Both within striking distance, these volcanoes make for a dramatic backdrop to El Medano.
